Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Shanghai, FAVAN Education is a boutique teaching institution focused on international education and test preparation. The brand is six years old, but our core team has worked in international education and test prep for more than twenty years — through the full arc of China’s study-abroad market from emergence to maturity, and through several reforms of core exams like the SAT, TOEFL and AP.
Founder Shawn Tian set FAVAN’s teaching DNA. Starting with TOEFL, SSAT and AP, she ultimately focused on the SAT for over a decade, becoming a market-recognized leading instructor across several SAT reforms and personally teaching thousands of students a year. This deep front-line experience is the brand’s original foundation.
From a team of a dozen to today’s steadily-run mid-sized institution, FAVAN has taken an unusual path over six years — no ad spend, no channel distribution, no price wars — growing solely on the depth of our teaching R&D, the quality of our classes and word-of-mouth among parents.

We put the great majority of our resources into teaching R&D, faculty and method. Good courses are built slowly — not marketed into existence.
